I'll Do It Later
Submitted by Strategic Partners Financial Group on July 22nd, 2017Procrastination is a problem which plagues most people in many different aspects of life, and causes a reduced quality of work as well as unneeded stress. Whether it be from lack of motivation, lack of inspiration, or no sense of urgency, procrastination can be draining.
With my last year at Wichita State University around the corner and my procrastination levels very high, I decided to put in some time and find the best way to assist me in eluding the negative effects of procrastination. Through some deliberation, I have found that as a substitute to laboring over tasks when inspiration is at an all-time low, it has been proven helpful to cut your losses by walking away and finding other productive things to do that are small and simple. Completing these other menial tasks creates momentum which has allowed me to circle back around and attack my original task with a renewed energy. Incorporating this into my daily life has been very useful to me over the past few weeks, even assisting in writing this post.
Procrastination is not an issue that can be completely cut out, however there are many ways to minimize its consequences. Being that there is no comprehensive fix for procrastination, it is in the best interest of everyone intent on making themselves more productive to figure out a method which works best for them.
